Creatine, longevity and the central nervous system

Plausible mechanisms, human evidence, and the limits of translation.

What the evidence supports

Creatine has a well-established role in cellular energy buffering. Its strongest practical relevance to healthy aging is as an adjunct to resistance training. Some cognitive and mood effects are promising, especially under energetic stress; human lifespan extension and dementia prevention remain unproven.
